College Intern - Software Engineering - Fall 2026 (Multiple Openings)

About the role

Our Fall 2026 College Internship Program is a paid co-op/internship experience for undergraduate and graduate students. Interns work on meaningful projects, receive mentorship, and participate in development workshops focused on key business concepts. This internship is available in both technical and non-technical areas, including Information Technology, Business Administration, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other degree programs.

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will join the Application Development team, contributing to the design, development, testing, and deployment of enterprise software solutions. You will gain hands-on experience with modern software engineering practices while supporting the organization’s digital transformation, automation, and operational excellence strategies. This role may involve data entry processes and will include working with a mentor on key strategic projects.

Interns are expected to create and deliver a presentation at the completion of the internship. Housing is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of enterprise software solutions.
• Support key strategic projects under the guidance of a mentor.
• Perform work assignments that vary based on business needs, departmental opportunities, and your qualifications (may include both technical and non-technical tasks).
• Create and deliver a presentation summarizing your internship experience.
• Adhere to company values, mission, and the Corporate Code of Conduct.
• Maintain member privacy in accordance with corporate policies.
• Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other functions as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma and proof of continuous college enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Good academic standing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and deliver high-quality work.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to build good working relationships with peers.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Qualifications

• Desired majors: Software Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or similar degree programs.
• Preferred skills or experience with: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, and/or Azure.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation, using a computer, keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three or more hours at a time.
• Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or trainings as needed.

Pay

Compensation ranges:

• Level I: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
• Level II: $21.00 – $23.00 per hour

Actual salary will vary based on factors such as budget, prior experience, knowledge, skills, education, and internal equity.
