College Intern - Construction

About the role

Our interns will receive on-the-job training, mentorship, and insight into various aspects of the consulting Construction Management and Construction Inspection industry, including materials, testing, construction contract management, and client interface. Individuals will be exposed to challenges, projects, and technology related to their specific discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction management support, including assisting with inspection and monitoring of roadway and bridge structures to ensure compliance with contract documents and safety regulations.
• Assist with materials tracking and testing to ensure compliance as required.
• Provide contract management support for construction projects.
• Assist with quantity calculations, as-built sketches, constructability reviews, attending project control meetings and other pre-operation meetings, and issue tracking.
• Fully engage in solving problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions.
• Review lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using standard survey and field engineering equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering & Management, Environmental Science, or related area.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Classwork in Construction Engineering or Construction Management.
• Participation in Professional Societies.
• Applicable prior internship experience.
