About the role
The College and Career Center Student Intern will work in the College and Career Center in collaboration with the Student Success Academy (SSA) to manage summer internship placements for the students in the SSA and Career Development Program. In addition, the intern will build programs and practices at FHS to increase work-based learning opportunities for students with regards to post-secondary aspirations.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct regularly scheduled meetings with student interns to discuss relevant issues such as career exploration, appropriate work attitude and behavior, employer-employee relationships, etc.
- Serve as a liaison between school administrators, faculty, students, and internship host partners to optimize student learning opportunities and experiences.
- Gather and analyze data around the program’s progress in meeting student needs and make adjustments accordingly.
- Provide outreach and information to caregivers regarding internship placements, progress, and schedules as needed.
- Maintain administrative records; prepare reports, program tracking data, and related correspondence.
- Provide job placement supervision and, with the help of the employer, evaluate each student's progress utilizing the Massachusetts Work-Based Learning Plans.
- Consult with administrators and others around issues relevant to employability and the daily schedule of each student engaged in an internship.
- Ensure all aspects of the program meet federal and state labor regulations, workman's compensation laws, laws governing the employment of students, and school safety policies.
- Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect; show flexibility and willingness to carry out other responsibilities as determined by the Vice Principal or designee.

Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Demonstrated interest or experience with healthcare and career development programming is preferred.
- Experience in healthcare or education environments is preferred.
- Ability to assist in coordinating programs and supporting students individually or in groups is highly valued.

- Organizational Management: Work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage several projects simultaneously while maintaining strong organizational skills to balance the demands of a multi-tasking position.
- Compliance & Confidentiality: Perform duties with awareness of district requirements, state and federal laws, and Framingham Public Schools policies. Maintain strict confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive student/employee records in accordance with FERPA/603 CMR 28.00.
