Education / Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous background of working in a healthcare related field, with knowledge of third party payers for at least 1 year preferred.
  • Previous background working with healthcare insurance companies to resolve payment complications preferred.
  • At least 1 year of data entry required.
  • PC experience required with knowledge of Excel and Word applications.
  • Healthcare collection experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and write proficiently.
  • Good math skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrates positive attitude and acceptance of Baptist Health values.

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Position requires sitting for 70% of the workday and mobility 30% of the workday.
  • Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
  • Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds.
  • Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
  • Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • Minimal noise levels.
  • Much exposure to computer work.
  • Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
  • Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
  • Sometimes exposure to hazardous chemicals.
  • Sometimes exposure to radiation.
