Collections Supervisor

Requirements

• Associate degree is desirable, with previous collections experience or at least three years of management experience in a clinic or medical group setting.
• Bilingual in Spanish is desirable.
• Proficient in knowledge of Medi-Cal, Medicare, and other state and local insurance billing.
• Working knowledge ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPC’s, and claim forms, such as CMS-1500 and UB-04.
• Math skills sufficient to prepare routine spreadsheets.
• Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills sufficient to supervise from 5 to 15 employees.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health record systems, electronic practice management systems.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and others.
• Effective work organization skills.
• Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner, including sensitivity with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities for tasks to work effectively in spite of interruptions and under minimal supervision.
• Fluency in English (speak, read and write).
• Ability to solve problems and make routine recommendations.
• Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality about health care and other patient/client information.
• Current California driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage, and a driving record acceptable to the NEVHC’s insurance carrier (if required to drive on the job).
