Requirements
- Associate degree is desirable, with previous collections experience or at least three years of management experience in a clinic or medical group setting.
- Bilingual in Spanish is desirable.
- Proficient in knowledge of Medi-Cal, Medicare, and other state and local insurance billing.
- Working knowledge ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPC’s, and claim forms, such as CMS-1500 and UB-04.
- Math skills sufficient to prepare routine spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills sufficient to supervise from 5 to 15 employees.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health record systems, electronic practice management systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and others.
- Effective work organization skills.
- Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner, including sensitivity with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities for tasks to work effectively in spite of interruptions and under minimal supervision.
- Fluency in English (speak, read and write).
- Ability to solve problems and make routine recommendations.
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality about health care and other patient/client information.
- Current California driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage, and a driving record acceptable to the NEVHC’s insurance carrier (if required to drive on the job).
