Collections Officer
About the role
This role serves as the primary point of contact for mortgagors regarding past due loans. Key responsibilities include responding to borrower requests, researching and resolving inquiries, collecting on delinquent accounts, handling loss mitigation calls, and maintaining composure under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Effectively and efficiently respond to borrower requests via phone and email using appropriate collections and counseling techniques while adhering to regulations and guidelines.
- Research and resolve inquiries by collaborating with internal and external partners.
- Collect on all stages of delinquent accounts and determine appropriate action to bring loans current.
- Handle loss mitigation calls and provide professional service to borrowers.
- Perform preliminary loss mitigation reviews to determine hardships and identify potential loss mitigation candidates.
- Send out borrower assistance packages.
- Have a clear understanding of the FDCPA.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational/technical training.
- A few years’ experience in mortgage and/or collections.
- A good working knowledge of GSE and Conventional default collections guidelines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong analytical abilities and active listening skills.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have experience in high school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational/technical training. They should also have a few years’ experience in mortgage and/or collections, a good working knowledge of GSE and Conventional default collections guidelines, strong written and oral communication skills, excellent customer service skills, strong analytical abilities, and active listening skills.
Skills
Knowledge of Black Knight/LPS Servicing System is preferred.

Pay
Hiring range: $54,000 - $72,500
Schedule
Work hours: Evening Shift, 1st through 16th: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM (Mon–Fri); 17th through 31st: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM (Mon–Fri); Last two Saturdays of the month: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM; Last two Wednesdays of the month: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
