Collections Assistant

As a Collections Assistant, you'll be the go-to person managing our customer receivables. Here's what you'll do:
- Own a portfolio of worldwide customer accounts, understanding their payment behavior and gaining business acumen
- Pursue collection and reconciliation of trade and non-trade receivables, using data, defined workflows, and cross-functional coordination to identify root causes of payment delays and drive resolution
- Verify, post, and reconcile accounts receivable data to maintain accuracy
- Reconcile ledgers, monitor incoming payments, and identify billing discrepancies
- Perform in-depth reviews of credit line requests and evaluate credit worthiness
- Communicate professionally with customers globally to resolve payment issues using escalation SLAs and data
- Evaluate daily customer shipment blocks, verify discrepancies, resolve billing issues, and release holds or escalate as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and concerns
- Support customer record maintenance
- Prepare documentation and provide support for month-end close activities and audit-related requests, including ICC or ICFR support
- Generate meaningful reports that analyze your portfolio
- Collaborate to develop and improve credit and collection processes

Requirements
- Associate degree or higher
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working directly with customers
- Strong communicator who can explain complex information clearly and simply
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage high-volume email communications and calendar priorities
- Strong attention to detail and thoughtful problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data reconciliation
- Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn
- Prefers an in-office environment, collaborating with colleagues 5 days a week
