Responsibilities

  • Collect assigned delinquent loans to minimize losses to the credit union and assist members in meeting their financial obligations
  • Mentor Adjustment Counselor I associates
  • Manage cost related to assigned larger and/or more complex book of delinquent loan accounts
  • Collect delinquent loans and credit card balances to mitigate loss
  • Apply creativity, data analysis and problem-solving skills to effectively solve collection issues
  • Perform a variety of basic and frequently complex loan and credit card collection services
  • Conduct thorough skip tracing
  • Demonstrate teamwork and assist the department with other assignments as requested
  • Determine collectability of assigned accounts
  • Perform outbound/inbound communication with members in an attempt to collect the debt
  • Record accurate and thorough collection records and follow-up with members regarding payment arrangements
  • Provide recommendations to management regarding repossessions, sale of collateral and charge-offs
  • Maintain delinquent loan files
  • Work cooperatively with team members to accomplish work
  • Perform account adjustments, suggest re-writes and extensions when needed
  • Follow all Credit Union and Departmental policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of related experience
  • General and business knowledge equivalent to a high school diploma

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
  • Ability to sit for extended time periods
  • Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment
  • Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel
  • Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects

Pay

Minimum salary: $19.23+/hr
