Collator Operator
Job Description
Wilsonart in Temple, Texas has an opening for a Head Layup. The Head Layup will Lay-up the treated Core Papers/Corestock according to the production schedule and will assist with Phenolic duties as needed under direction of the Supervisor/Foreman - Core Papers/Corestock. This position is for the night shift 5pm – 5am.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Count the proper amount of core material needed for production.
- Lay up the core material according to the production schedule.
- Monitor the visual quality of the material.
- Inspect the run before moving to the press.
- Prepare the lay-up station for the next run.
- Complete all documentation necessary to complete the run.
- Train the lay-up people in laying-up the material, visual quality of the material and how to read the production schedule.
- Read and understand the product specification book.
- Train as Head Layup
- Drive a Hubtex
- Operate the rewind
- Can drive a Forklift
- Contech Helper Egan Operator Maxon Helper
- Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards
- Knowledgeable in reading manufacturing schedules.
- Skill in hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to lead people.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: High School Graduate or GED
- Experience: Minimum/No Experience
- Three months of paper lay-up experience.
Physical Requirements
- Continuously stand/walk or lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight (20-50lbs)
Environment
- Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness.
