About the role

Sets up and operates collating and/or labeling/patching machines to produce value-added enhancements to in-process work. Reviews specifications and sets up equipment that performs forms collating from web rolls, label affixing, or window patching to printed or in-process materials specific to the customer's requirements.

Equipment operated may perform functions related to assembling and perforating signatures, stapling, gluing, folding, or cutting sheets of paper, forms, or signatures in specified sequence to form completed sets or die-cut and apply labels or films to paper substrates.

Performs safety inspections, documents problems, and tracks production during operation.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret written work orders or other job specifications containing collating requirements, including the number and sequence of webs required to complete the work and maintain dimensional accuracy.
  • Set up and adjust machines for finishing operations, refining adjustments for the weight, color, machinability, and quality of paper stock to prevent machining impressions on printed materials.
  • Calculate distances, clearances, and fits in combining machines.
  • Use standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain the functional accuracy and operating conditions of collating machines.
  • Perform standard and specialized folds, gluing, perforating, and cutting of printed materials using collating/label application machines.
  • Understand the setup, operating requirements, procedures, capabilities, and limitations of collating machines for folding, collating, and cutting printed materials.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the quality and machining requirements of various coated and uncoated types of paper stock.
  • Skill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations.
  • General knowledge of collating/label application machines to perform a full range of standard and specialized tasks.
  • Thorough knowledge of the setup, operating requirements, procedures, capabilities, and limitations of collating machines.

Pay

Starting minimum rate of $24.44 per hour (including shift differential and $2/hr shift premium). The pay range for this role is $22.44 - $31.62 per hour, varying based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. Total compensation may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM.
  • Occasional overtime may be required, including weekends.
