About the role
Thriveworks is a mental health provider with 340+ locations and serves over 175,000 clients annually. We seek a board-certified Psychiatrist to collaborate with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) and provide part-time direct psychiatric care.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision and support to PMHNPs.
- Participate in initial and ongoing chart reviews, case consultations, and quality assurance activities.
- Support PMHNPs in complex psychiatric evaluations, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements for psychiatric NP supervision.
- Contribute to ongoing clinical education, best practice implementation, and policy development.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management sessions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based psychiatric care for a range of mental health conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including therapists, case managers, and social workers.
- Maintain up-to-date clinical documentation within the EMR system.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) with residency training in Psychiatry.
- Board Certification in Psychiatry (ABPN).
- Active and unrestricted medical license in multiple states, or willing to get licensed in multiple states.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-residency experience, preferably with supervisory or collaborative experience with PMHNPs.
- Deep understanding of the NP scope of practice in psychiatry and relevant state regulations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and mentorship skills.
- Licensed in Tennessee.
- Preferred qualifications include experience in outpatient psychiatry and/or telepsychiatry settings, familiarity with trauma-informed care, integrated care, and/or addiction psychiatry, multistate licensure or willingness to obtain additional licenses, and experience with EMR systems and virtual collaboration tools.
Work Schedule
- Supervisory / Collaboration: 10 hours/week (flexible; may include chart review, virtual meetings, and ad-hoc consultations).
- Clinical Hours: 30 hours/week (60 - 70 sessions), depending on caseload and availability.
- Flexibility in schedule and work location (telepsychiatry options available).
