About the role
ReMed, a Collage Rehabilitation Partner, is a growing organization dedicated to providing exceptional neurological rehabilitation to adults with brain injury. For more than 40 years we have developed programs for clients with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries, including post‑concussion syndrome, stroke, memory loss, neurobehavioral issues, and accident or sports‑related head injuries. We are seeking a full‑time Cognitive Rehabilitation Specialist to work in our residential program located in West Chester, PA.
Responsibilities
- Provide cognitive rehabilitation therapy services to clients with cognitive disorders, focusing on memory, executive function, comprehension, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
- Work directly with clients, offering minimum to maximum assistance and/or supervision to promote success in achieving identified treatment goals.
- Complete therapy evaluations and collaborate with the treatment team to develop initial treatment plans and establish priority goals.
- Train and educate families, funders, employers, and significant others as needed to support the treatment and discharge plan.
- Monitor clients’ treatment plans and progress toward goals, providing problem solving, conflict resolution, and revising goals and treatment plans as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare‑related field.
- Work experience in one of the following areas: neuropsychology, speech‑language therapy, occupational therapy, special‑needs education, or social work.
- ACBIS certification (required).
- One year of brain‑injury industry experience (preferred).
- Must become credentialed as a Cognitive Rehabilitation Specialist Level 1 within two years of starting the role.
- Completion of the required supervised direct‑client‑contact fieldwork hours for Level 1 certification, supervised by the Clinical Director or designee.
