About the role
We are seeking a Cogen Supervisor to oversee operations at our Otsego manufacturing facility. This role ensures the efficient and safe operation of our cogeneration system, which provides critical power and steam to our production processes.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily cogeneration plant operations, including start-up, shutdown, and routine monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational regulations.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on cogeneration equipment.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to optimize efficiency.
- Manage fuel supply, emissions monitoring, and reporting requirements.
- Train and develop plant operators to maintain high performance and safety standards.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cogeneration operations.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in power plant operations, mechanical/electrical engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in cogeneration, power plant operations, or industrial boiler systems.
- Strong knowledge of steam turbines, generators, boilers, and auxiliary equipment.
- Familiarity with control systems (DCS, PLC) and instrumentation.
- Experience with environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA) and emissions monitoring.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor operators.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
