About the role
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the practices and procedures related to property maintenance and the skill and ability to interact with the public in a manner that promotes the City's goal of reducing blight while maintaining respect for property owners and tenants.
Responsibilities
- Conduct indoor and outdoor field investigations
- Inspect properties for violations
- Issue and post warning notices, notices of violations, corrective notices, and orders to comply
- Perform a variety of field and office work to support and comply with City regulations and ordinances
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or Equivalency
- A valid state drivers' license
- Certification as a Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector through the International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) within six (6) months of appointment
