Position Summary

Manage and supervise the administrative code enforcement function of the team to effectively and efficiently enforce all applicable codes.

Essential Functions

  • Solve complex code interpretation issues
  • Review and make recommendations on state statutes and code changes
  • Establish policies and procedures
  • Serve as a liaison, task team member, or chairman of technical and customer service teams within the Code Enforcement Division
  • Provide technical guidance and advice regarding applicable code enforcement regulations to Architects, Professional Engineers, Contractors, the general public, and/or other interested parties in person, over the phone, or in writing
  • Administer, monitor, and evaluate specialized programs and/or ordinances related to code enforcement
  • Coordinate with peer Code Enforcement Managers to assure consistency within the department
  • Absorb all HR requirements in relation to staff

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of six years of code related experience and/or seven years in the design or construction industry including one year of supervisory experience or completion of an approved supervisory training program
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering. Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?
  • Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
  • Requires County Driving Privileges
