About the role
SAFEbuilt is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position will be responsible for reviewing building plans, issuing permits, conducting inspections, and enforcing local building codes.
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Issue permits for construction projects and ensure all requirements are met.
- Conduct routine and special inspections to ensure adherence to building codes and safety standards.
- Enforce local building codes and regulations, including addressing violations and issuing citations.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders regarding permit applications and inspection schedules.
- Keep abreast of changes in building codes and regulations and ensure ongoing compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Pay
Salary range: $50,000 - $70,000 annually, depending on experience.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
