The City of Missoula is seeking a detail-oriented and community-minded individual to join their team as a Code Enforcement I. In this role, you'll help protect the quality of life in Missoula by ensuring fair, consistent, and compassionate enforcement of the Missoula Municipal Code.
About the role
Your work will play a vital part in maintaining safe, welcoming, and well-kept neighborhoods across our city. You'll conduct site inspections, resolve zoning or housing complaints, and work directly with residents and local agencies. No two days are the same, and your work will matter every step of the way.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with the Missoula Municipal Code
- Resolve zoning or housing complaints in a fair and consistent manner
- Work directly with residents and local agencies to address concerns
- Collaborate with other departments and community members to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications
- Experience in law enforcement, public safety, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of local ordinances and regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Benefits
The full range for the position is $25.49 - $29.69/hour and will increase each year for longevity and cost of living adjustments.
