Responsibilities

• Remove used litter from houses
• Clean and disinfect poultry houses and all equipment (including vehicles/tractors) utilizing commercial pressure washer on wet/slick floor
• Place new shavings in houses following cleaning
• Move birds as required to feed conversion houses, growing houses, laying houses or live haul loading area
• Repairs and maintains tractors, pressure washers, litter truck, trailers, and mechanical equipment
• Repairs cages, pens, equipment and buildings or fenced yards
• Farm cleanup such as garbage/litter retrieval
• Properly euthanize weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy
• Biosecurity/Animal Welfare: The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility.

Requirements

• Must have valid driver’s license
• Must regularly lift and/or move, up to 50 pounds to move items such as partitions, cages, bird coops; tools, such as pallet jack, may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 2000 pounds such as skids of supplies, shavings, etc.
• Must use safe lifting techniques
• Must regularly stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; stoop/bend up to 1000 times per day
• Must have good communication skills to accurately convey opinions and concerns
• Must have physical ability to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also work in hot, dry, dusty, wet, icy, snowy and cold environments

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months
• Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months
• Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days
• Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods

Pay

Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, occasional holidays

Hours: 5:30am – 3:25pm

Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.
