Cobb - Hatchery Maintenance

Location: Siloam Springs Hatchery

Schedule

Tuesday - Saturday. Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.

Applicants must have at least six consecutive months of work experience with the same employer and no additional gaps in employment greater than six months within the last 36 months. If applicant was laid-off, providing eldercare or childcare, the six-month gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history criteria will not apply to applicants who have been full-time students consecutively for the last 36 months. Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.

Responsibilities

• Perform and maintain the PM program which includes greasing motors, grease and lubricate chains on tray wash, buggy wash, box wash and PM setters and hatchers before each set or transfer. (35%)
• Assist maintenance supervisor with duties. (5%)
• Change single and three-phase motors. (10%)
• Calibrate hatchers and setters. (35%)
• Empty offal tank. (10%)
• Respirator certification is required and maintained by testing on an annual basis.
• Other duties as assigned, such as: on-call duties, calibrate pump for dispensing chemicals, dispense formaldehyde. (5%)

Requirements

• Previous agricultural or production experience preferred.
• Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
• Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
• Must use safe lifting techniques and regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to obtain lock out/tag out certification.
• Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, and reach above head.
• Must be able to stand for the majority of the shift on a concrete floor, walk, use hands to handle tools, and talk or hear.
• Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment: safety glasses, safety goggles, clear grinder shield, welding helmet, rubber/chemical gloves, and occasionally waterproof apron and rubber boots. Ear plugs and NIOSH-approved N95 particulate respirators will be used as needed.
• Must follow all applicable safety policies and procedures, including Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO, and Personal Protective Equipment.

Skills

• Use of basic hand tools, amp probe/meter, voltage tester, welder, grinder, drill press, and cordless drill.
• Exposure to chemicals such as lubricants, formaldehyde, and disinfectants.

Pay

Starting wage: $22.95 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights, and weekends.
