About the role
The East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD) seeks a skilled and passionate visual coach to work with one or more of the district's high schools Marching Band and/or Winter Season programs. Throughout the production, the coach will work alongside the credentialed teacher at District High School, supporting students of varying skill levels. This role includes design, rehearsal preparation, instruction, and performance support at one or more school sites, contributing to a high-quality production for a diverse student body.
Responsibilities
- Assist visual caption head with designing choreography and movement for the production as requested.
- Teach and clean choreography and movement.
- Attend and assist director at rehearsals as scheduled with the director.
- Attend and assist at performances as scheduled with the director.
- Foster student creativity, discipline, and teamwork in a culturally responsive and inclusive environment.
This is a seasonal role tied to a specific season or production (Marching Band: one season/production; Winter Percussion: one season/production).
Requirements
- Experience with all visual skills and pedagogy related to the Marching Band, Winter Guard, or Winter Percussion activity.
- Experience teaching high school-aged students.
- Experience teaching small and large group instruction.
- Must complete Edjoin online application, submit a resume, and provide letters of recommendation/reference.
- Selected candidates must pass fingerprint clearance and provide current TB test results prior to employment.
