About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed colleague to join our team in the Bachelor of Social Work program. You will provide teaching and coaching within the practical training line of the program, supporting students in their professional growth to become engaged, critical, and self-aware social professionals ready for urban social work practice.

The Social Work practical training spans the first, second, and third years of the bachelor's program. In the first year, students focus on getting acquainted with the program, the field, each other, and the metropolitan context. The second year centers on internships, where you will coach students in their development as practice professionals through sessions, intervisions, workshops, field visits, and networking events.

Together with your team, you will help build a program where students feel at home and can grow into strong social professionals with their own unique perspectives.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and coach students in the practical training line of the Social Work program, both in the first and second years.
  • Support students in their professional growth and learning process through coaching sessions, intervisions, workshops, and practical visits.
  • Contribute constructively to the content and direction of the program.
  • Apply critical thinking to urban challenges, inequalities, and the role of social work.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in organizing and participating in practical training activities throughout the academic year.
  • Utilize and build upon a collectively developed training package for coaching, intervisions, and workshops.

Requirements

  • You hold a bachelor's and/or master's degree in a social-educational field. If your degree is from outside the Netherlands, Luxembourg, or the Baltic states, include a NARIC equivalence certificate.
  • You meet the conditions of articles V 106 and V 107 of the Higher Education Codex and comply with current language legislation.
  • Experience with IT skills for online education is essential.
  • Multilingualism is a strong asset, particularly proficiency in French or English, given our international ambitions in Brussels.
  • You are familiar with the urban reality and have a keen understanding of metropolitan dynamics, preferably with a professional network in Brussels.
  • You are innovative in shaping the practical training line and motivated to continue learning.
