Coach - Elementary Football

Essential Functions

• Teach and coach our students at the highest level that can be attained which would support the academic beliefs and practices of the Jefferson City School District.
• Teach individual participants the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season.
• Work closely with the athletic director in scheduling interscholastic contests.
• Recommend the purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate.
• Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
• Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
• Establish performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in the coach’s sport.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
• Demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills.
• Organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Comply with good safety practices.
• Comply with all district rules, regulations, and policies.

Skills/Qualifications

• A valid Missouri teacher certificate.
• Employment as a teacher in the Jefferson City School District.
• Previous coaching experience in assigned sport, preferred.

Miscellaneous Requirements

• Clearances: Background clearance required; the results of which must be satisfactory to the District.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity.
• Must be able to demonstrate performance in physical situations including weather or surface related areas as well as working on game plans or other related tasks that would be done by the head coach.
