Co-Vocational Head Pastor

About the role

Dora First Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a co-vocational Head Pastor who is called by God to shepherd, preach, teach, lead, and serve the congregation. The pastor will serve as the primary spiritual leader and primary preaching pastor of the church while balancing pastoral ministry with outside employment or other vocational responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Preach and teach the Word faithfully according to 2 Timothy 4:1–5
• Shepherd the congregation according to Acts 20:17–32 and 1 Peter 5:1–4
• Equip the saints for ministry according to Ephesians 4:11–16
• Lead the church in fulfilling the Great Commission according to Matthew 28:18–20
• Affirm and lead on the core biblical doctrines summarized in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
• Demonstrate wisdom, diligence, integrity, and realistic time management while balancing pastoral ministry, family life, sermon preparation, church leadership, and outside vocational responsibilities

Qualifications

• Meets all the biblical qualifications for pastor/overseer found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9
• Demonstrates sound doctrine, biblical character, pastoral maturity, servant leadership, and a heart for evangelism, discipleship, missions, and church unity
