How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing
As an Operational Performance & Projects Co-op within Delta’s Flight Operations organization, you will support the Line Operations team through data-driven analysis, cross-functional project work, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, reliability, and the pilot experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Data Analysis & Insights:
- Aid in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing operational performance data (e.g., D0, A0, fuel burn, taxi time, latency, safety indicators).
- Identify trends, themes, and improvement opportunities to support operational decision-making.
- Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and recurring reports using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Participate in pre- and post-implementation analysis to understand the impact of new initiatives.
- Translate findings into clear summaries and visualizations for operational partners and leadership.
- Project & Program Support:
- Support ad-hoc and ongoing projects across Line Operations, including process improvements, operational studies, and reporting enhancements.
- Aid in project planning activities such as defining scope, timelines, and stakeholder touchpoints.
- Participate in working sessions, stand-ups, and progress reviews; document notes, decisions, and action items.
- Help prepare presentations, problem statements, and data summaries for leadership and stakeholder reviews.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather inputs and support implementation efforts.
- Flight Crew Reporting (FCR) — Program Support:
- Assist with monitoring the day-to-day health of the FCR program, including queue triage and backlog hygiene.
- Analyze FCR data to identify reporting trends, themes, and recurring issues.
- Review report closeouts for clarity and proper categorization; escalate broader patterns as appropriate.
- Gather pilot feedback related to usability, reporting friction, and workflow challenges, and help translate insights into improvement opportunities.
- Maintain basic FCR documentation such as change logs, known-issues lists, and communication drafts.
- Collaborate with divisional partners (e.g., ACS, IFS, OCC, TOC) to support alignment and cross-departmental improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication:
- Work with teams across Flight Operations and other operational organizations to gather data, context, and requirements.
- Aid in preparing materials for internal meetings, briefings, and performance reviews.
- Help draft internal communications such as performance summaries, newsletters, and operational updates.
- Document methodologies, findings, and lessons learned to support knowledge sharing.
What You Need To Succeed
- Minimum Qualifications:
- The Co-op position requires a candidate to be enrolled as an undergraduate (sophomore or above) that has successfully completed a minimum of 30 semester hours.
- Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be able to maintain the minimum GPA.
- This position is intended to provide you with educational and professional work experience to prepare you for the workforce.
- This position requires you to work for 3 alternating semesters.
- Students must be able to complete 3 alternating rotations in Atlanta, GA in line with the schedule below:
- Fall 2026 - 1st rotation
- Summer 2027 - 2nd rotation
- Spring 2028 - 3rd rotation
- Interested Disciplines:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, analytical, business, engineering, aviation, or technology-related field, or another discipline with a demonstrated interest in operations, analytics, or process improvement.
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university and available to complete three alternating co-op semesters prior to graduation.
- Interest in data analysis, operational performance, and how complex systems work.
- Comfortable working with data in Excel; willingness to learn additional tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas and findings.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Curiosity, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn through hands-on experience.

- Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework or experience involving data analysis, statistics, operations, or process improvement.
- Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or basic SQL, Python, or R.
- Experience working on team-based projects, internships, or student organizations.
- Interest in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, or internal consulting-style work.
- Ability to organize information and develop clear, concise presentations.
