Our goal is to expose emerging talent to manufacturing and technology development processes, develop industry knowledge and skills, and prepare students for a full-time position at Schaeffler. Students work with professionals and cutting-edge technology to drive innovation in motion technology.
Responsibilities
- Assigned an engineering project aligned with Schaeffler’s current R&D initiatives within the Engine or Chassis departments
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team on a daily basis on innovative and technically challenging projects
- EE integration of mechatronics systems and components (including sizing, e.g., e-motor), reviewing interface specifications, wiring schematics, creating wire harnesses and electrical triage, integration into HiL and Vehicle environments
- Circuit design and analysis/testing (e.g., analog filtering, sensorics), PCBA prototyping, wiring schematics
- Market research of EE products, benchmarking, and documentation
- Interface with cross-functional teams to effectively complete assigned tasks
- Work independently, follow instructions, and participate in developmental opportunities such as projects, job rotation, hands-on training, and exposure to manufacturing and technological processes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher per semester
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and driven to achieve results
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods and lift and move thirty pounds
- Willingness to learn and assertive approach to solving problems
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship skills with an ability to collaborate across varying levels of the organization
