Schaeffler’s Cooperative Education Program provides students with outstanding practical experience tailored to their interests and career aspirations. The program exposes emerging talent to manufacturing and technology development processes, builds industry knowledge and skills, and prepares students for potential full-time roles at Schaeffler. Participants work with professionals and cutting-edge technology to drive innovation in motion technology.

Responsibilities

  • EE integration of mechatronics systems and components, including sizing (e.g., e-motor), reviewing interface specifications, wiring schematics, creating wire harnesses, and electrical triage for integration into HiL and vehicle environments
  • Circuit design and analysis/testing (e.g., analog filtering, sensorics), PCBA prototyping, and wiring schematics
  • Market research of electrical/electronic products, benchmarking, and documentation
  • Interfacing with cross-functional teams to complete assigned tasks
  • Working independently, following instructions, and taking on developmental tasks such as projects, job rotation, hands-on training, and exposure to manufacturing and technological processes

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA per semester
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and driven to achieve results
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods and lift/move up to 30 pounds
  • Willingness to learn and assertive approach to problem-solving
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across organizational levels
