Overview & Key Responsibilities
Working as a Co-op does not guarantee a full-time opportunity upon graduation. This position is intended to provide educational and professional work experience.
The overall function and role: as part of the team directly responsible for all safety, security, and compliance efforts for Delta Cargo worldwide customers and employees, this individual will be supporting applicable initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rewarding environment.
- Support the Cargo Safety, Security, & Compliance team with ongoing development of enhancements and improvements to cargo operations
- Propose ideas for continuous improvement in processing and tracking effectiveness
- Implementing project management skills and practices
- Record results in databases and develop metrics to analyze performance
- Measure and analyze current performance
- Work across business units with various stakeholders in a professional setting
- Provide process engineering and/or internal consulting services
- Participate in data collection efforts for projects that impact cross-functional departments
- Identify and implement improvements to existing processes to increase efficiency, productivity, and performance
- Recommend ideas for new ways to provide optimal (internal and external) customer service and evaluate safety/compliance impact of proposed operational changes
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- The co-op must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a 4-year academic institution throughout the co-op program.
- The co-op must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office on a full-time basis as an undergraduate student during the following 3 alternating semesters: Fall 2026, Summer 2027, and Spring 2028.
- Must be enrolled in one of the following or similar studies: Business Administration and Management, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Aviation/Aeronautics/Aeronautical Science, Aviation Management/Aviation Operations, Occupational Health & Safety, Aviation/Aerospace Safety, Human Factors, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Management, Information Systems
- Open-mindedness and willingness & ability to learn new skills are required.
- Exercise confidentiality of protected information at all times.
- Must be able to work in a time sensitive environment, self-motivated, eager to accept responsibility and learn new tools and processes.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work on multiple assignments with strict deadlines and function effectively under pressure.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving skills, and verbal/written communication skills are essential.
- Candidate is team-oriented and highly supportive of continuous improvement methodologies.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- General administrative skills which include but are not limited to scheduling meetings or in-person training, coordinating speakers and attendees, coordinating meeting logistics, taking and publishing meeting notes, and conducting post-meeting follow-up.
- At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0-point scale.
- Some travel may be required.

- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

- Passion for aviation or a keen interest in learning and contributing to the aviation/airlines industry is advantageous.
- The degree includes a specialization in aviation, supply chain, cargo, logistics, and security.
- Confident in PowerPoint and presentation creation; executive decks are built regularly.
- Confident in Excel creation/manipulation; large data sets are regularly collated, analyzed, and reviewed.
- Strong presentation skills in front of leaders and large groups.
- Familiar with airline operations.
- Project management experience.
- Track record of seeking leadership roles including student and community organizations.
- Passionate about a future career in the aviation/airline industry and serving Delta’s customers.
