Key Responsibilities
- Aid in the preparation, review, and revision of division emergency action plans, disaster preparedness standard operating procedures, readiness plans, and other standard operating procedure documentation.
- Lead the Security Division through annual hurricane preparedness exercises.
- Record the tropical cyclone condition of readiness responses during actual tropical storm events.
- After a tropical storm event, record after action reports requiring changes to standard operating procedures, policy, or any negative impacts to the workforce.
- Capture lessons learned.
- Update and maintain plans for space allocations in the event of an event requiring the activation of the continuity plan.
- Perform annual inspections and reviews of the alternate operating facility.
- Inventory and record any assets needed for continuity operations (e.g., MREs, water, cots, land mobile radios, etc.).
- Review and update Continuity of Operations plans annually.
- Train and record training for the Emergency Relocation Staff for continuity operations.
- Document key events, requests for information, and taskings from higher headquarters during exercises or actual events.
- Track any outstanding actions from exercises or real-world events to ensure solutions are identified and corrective actions are implemented/tested.
- Support Departments during a continuity transition effort to a new space.
- Manage inventory and support equipment for deployment readiness.
- Conduct weekly readiness communications checks.
- Prepare readiness drill cards and schedule readiness drill activities.
Desired Qualifications
- Background in emergency management, continuity of operations, and/or personnel readiness support. Military experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to interact effectively across various levels of personnel.
