Responsibilities
- Affirms an in-store sales-building culture that ensures growth through execution of company merchandising programs and weekly sales plans in each department, planning and executing weekly sales themes, ensuring in-stock conditions throughout the store, and participating in weekly sales meetings.
- Ensures desired levels of guest satisfaction, courtesy, and service throughout the store, with a focus on the front-end fast service commitment.
- Assists the store manager in achieving budgeted financial results in assigned area of responsibility and collaborates with the manager to achieve total store results.
- Protects company assets, conducts weekly manager audits on front-end, DSD receiving and pricing, and manages grocery inventory with shrink results of ≤ 0.40% of sales.
- Manages store variable expenses, including achieving budgeted wage percentages, assists in staffing the store, forecasts needs, recruits, and trains personnel, and builds a talent planning bench for the store.
- Develops and executes development plans for hi-potential and promotable individuals, ensures direct reports understand expectations for performance, holds them accountable to achieve budgeted results, and provides ongoing and annual performance appraisals.
- Monitors store conditions through frequent and detailed store walks, effectively trains and develops the store management team, especially department managers, and maintains a positive store morale.
- Facilitates effective communications to the Store Manager, Field Merchandisers, and store hosts, ensures stores comply with company standards (measured by ALI audits), and maintains compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Possess the knowledge and skills generally associated with a Bachelor's degree plus 1-2 years of supermarket management experience.
