  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and grinders (3, 4, and/or 5-axis) to machine complex components
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to determine machining approach and tolerances
  • Plan machining sequences, select tooling, and perform setups for prototype and short-run tooling builds
  • Perform precision machining operations including milling, turning, boring, drilling, threading, and grinding
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and CMM equipment
  • Troubleshoot machining processes, tooling issues, and dimensional discrepancies during build and prove-out
  • Fabricate and adjust custom tooling and fixtures as needed to support production efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP as applicable)
  • Document inspection results, process changes, and shift hand-off notes
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve tooling design and manufacturability

  • 5+ years of Toolmaker, Tool & Die, or CNC machining experience in a precision environment
  • Strong experience building tooling, fixtures, or prototype components (not just production machining)
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
  • Hands-on experience with CNC programming edits (G-code) and machine setup
  • Proficiency with precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques
  • Strong mathematical skills (geometry, trigonometry for complex machining calculations)
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from print to completion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and documentation requirements
  • Multi-axis machining (4-axis/5-axis)
  • CAD/CAM software experience (Mastercam, Fusion, or similar)
  • Experience with hard metals (titanium, Inconel, stainless steel)
