2nd and 3rd shifts available.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, modify, and repair precision tooling, fixtures, gauges, and dies used in aerospace manufacturing
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and grinders (3, 4, and/or 5-axis) to machine complex components
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to determine machining approach and tolerances
- Plan machining sequences, select tooling, and perform setups for prototype and short-run tooling builds
- Perform precision machining operations including milling, turning, boring, drilling, threading, and grinding
- Conduct in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and CMM equipment
- Troubleshoot machining processes, tooling issues, and dimensional discrepancies during build and prove-out
- Fabricate and adjust custom tooling and fixtures as needed to support production efficiency
- Maintain compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP as applicable)
- Document inspection results, process changes, and shift hand-off notes
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve tooling design and manufacturability
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Toolmaker, Tool & Die, or CNC machining experience in a precision environment
- Strong experience building tooling, fixtures, or prototype components (not just production machining)
- Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
- Hands-on experience with CNC programming edits (G-code) and machine setup
- Proficiency with precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques
- Strong mathematical skills (geometry, trigonometry for complex machining calculations)
- Able to work independently and take ownership of projects from print to completion
Preferred Experience
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and documentation requirements
- Multi-axis machining (4-axis/5-axis)
- CAD/CAM software experience (Mastercam, Fusion, or similar)
- Experience with hard metals (titanium, Inconel, stainless steel)
