About the role
We are seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to support manufacturing operations through the design, fabrication, repair, and optimization of tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures. This role plays a critical part in ensuring production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness by troubleshooting and resolving complex tooling issues.
Responsibilities
- Plan sequences of operations and develop layouts for tooling based on design prints, sketches, and engineering specifications
- Fabricate, assemble, rework, repair, and validate tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures, including blanking, piercing, and forming dies
- Determine appropriate tools, materials, and equipment required for tooling processes
- Interpret and supplement incomplete design information, collaborating with engineering and production teams to develop solutions
- Suggest design improvements, material substitutions, and process enhancements to improve manufacturability and cost efficiency
- Prepare sketches and layouts for machining tooling components
- Set up and operate machine tools as needed for the production and modification of tooling
- Coordinate with tool design and production personnel to prepare tooling for first-piece inspection and implement modifications
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis on tooling issues, including design flaws, material defects, or improper usage
- Act as a liaison between manufacturing, engineering, and tooling departments to resolve complex issues and improve processes
- Observe tooling performance during production and recommend corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce defects
- Generate and maintain reports, documentation, and work orders related to tooling improvements and repairs
- Utilize advanced shop mathematics, including trigonometry, to support precision work
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines
- Previous Tool & Die Maker experience required
- Strong knowledge of measuring instruments such as calipers, bore micrometers, and dial indicators
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including datum structures and tolerances
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Strong understanding of precision measurement techniques and tools
- Experience with advanced shop math concepts
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling and machining issues
- Willingness to work any shift as required

Pay
The salary range for this position is $70,000–$85,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
