About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CNC Set-Up Operator to join our client, a precision manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling equipment, performing quality inspections, and ensuring production runs efficiently while meeting tight tolerances.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines for precision-machined components.
- Install and adjust tooling, tool holders, and machine offsets for production jobs.
- Verify part quality using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and microscopes.
- Make tooling and offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy throughout production.
- Prepare raw materials, including cutting and deburring stock as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.
- Support process improvements by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce cycle times.
- Monitor tooling inventory and report replacement or purchasing needs.
- Perform deburring and other secondary finishing operations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of CNC setup and machining experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Experience with CNC-controlled equipment and troubleshooting machining processes.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, inspection methods, and precision measuring tools.
- Experience machining small, high-tolerance components.
- Manual machining experience, including lathe and milling operations.
- Ability to inspect and work with small parts under magnification.
- Strong shop math and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Surface grinding experience is a plus.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (overtime as needed)
Pay
$25-$31/hr
