CNC Set-Up II

About the role

We are seeking a CNC Set-Up II to join our team. This position is responsible for loading, making minor adjustments to preset CNC programs or creating simple CNC programs, operating manufacturing machinery to produce acceptable product, and maintaining a clean work area.

Responsibilities

• Loads, adjusts, or creates simple CNC programs to direct machine operation
• Operates CNC manufacturing equipment to produce acceptable product according to work instructions
• Reads and interprets technical drawings to determine machine set-up and production methods
• Inspects parts for defects during in-process inspection and records results, adjusts programs, or notifies appropriate person when deviations occur
• Performs machine adjustments such as offsets or setting tapers and conducts basic preventative maintenance tasks
• Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment
• Trains incoming CNC Set-up personnel on processes and procedures

Requirements

• Two (2) years relevant CNC manufacturing experience
• Three (3) years relevant CNC experience preferred
• Intermediate math (algebra, geometry, trigonometry) and computer skills
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM programs and G & M codes
• Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Attention to detail and excellent listening skills
• Able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required

Vocational or technical certification preferred

Skills

• Ability to understand and act on verbal and written instructions
