Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Independently set up HAAS 3-axis and 4-axis CNC milling machines, including rotary tables (A-axis), fixtures, tooling, and offsets
- Install, indicate, and align 4-axis rotary tables, tailstocks, and tombstones to ensure accurate centerline and perpendicularity
- Load, verify, and edit CNC programs involving indexed and continuous 4-axis motion
- Establish and verify work offsets (G54–G59), rotary offsets, and tool length offsets for multi-axis machining
- Perform first-article inspections on multi-face parts and make real-time program and offset adjustments
- Troubleshoot complex 4-axis issues, including: Angular misalignment, Rotary zero return errors, Positional repeatability issues, Tool clearance and collision risks
- Optimize machining strategies to reduce multiple set-ups through effective 4-axis indexing and rotation
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on fixture design, tooling selection, and program improvements
- Support high-mix, low-volume production requiring frequent and complex changeovers
- Train and support CNC Operators on safe operation and best practices for 4-axis machining
Required Technical Experience
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience with significant HAAS set-up responsibility
- Hands-on experience setting up and running 4-axis HAAS milling machines (required)
- Proven experience working with: HAAS rotary tables (TRT / HRT or equivalent), Tombstone and multi-face fixturing, Complex part orientation and datum control
- Strong ability to read and interpret: Complex blueprints, GD&T, including position, profile, concentricity, and runout
- Proficiency in G-code editing, including: A-axis rotary commands, Tool plane and indexing logic, Program prove-out and safe start practices
- Skilled in precision measurement and inspection methods for multi-axis components
