Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to develop, program, set up, and operate CNC machining equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong multi-axis machining and CAD/CAM programming experience, with the ability to machine complex geometries to close tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, prove out, and modify CNC programs for complex multi-axis machining operations.
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, VTLs, and 5-axis machining centers as required.
- Create, modify, and optimize tooling, fixtures, and setup procedures.
- Select and set up appropriate tools, fixtures, and programs for new and existing jobs.
- Edit CNC programs to improve efficiency, resolve issues, and accommodate production changes.
- Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, tooling, setup sheets, and program modifications.
- Troubleshoot CNC and DNC system issues.
- Provide technical support and training to machinists regarding CNC programs and machining processes.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams on new product development and manufacturing changes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical training in CNC programming/machining, or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of CNC programming experience.
- Experience with CNC mills, lathes, VTLs, and/or 5-axis machining centers.
- Strong CAD/CAM programming skills.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with G-code and M-code editing.
- Experience with multi-axis machining and multiple CNC controller platforms.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience machining composite materials such as CFRP, fiberglass, or Kevlar.
- 5+ years of experience with SURFCAM or NX CAM.
- Experience setting up and operating large 5-axis machining centers.
- Familiarity with Haas, Fanuc, Mazak, and Siemens controls.
Additional Requirements
- Aerospace or other precision-manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse production and engineering teams.
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
