Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to develop, program, set up, and operate CNC machining equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong multi-axis machining and CAD/CAM programming experience, with the ability to machine complex geometries to close tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, prove out, and modify CNC programs for complex multi-axis machining operations.
  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, VTLs, and 5-axis machining centers as required.
  • Create, modify, and optimize tooling, fixtures, and setup procedures.
  • Select and set up appropriate tools, fixtures, and programs for new and existing jobs.
  • Edit CNC programs to improve efficiency, resolve issues, and accommodate production changes.
  • Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, tooling, setup sheets, and program modifications.
  • Troubleshoot CNC and DNC system issues.
  • Provide technical support and training to machinists regarding CNC programs and machining processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams on new product development and manufacturing changes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical training in CNC programming/machining, or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of CNC programming experience.
  • Experience with CNC mills, lathes, VTLs, and/or 5-axis machining centers.
  • Strong CAD/CAM programming skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with G-code and M-code editing.
  • Experience with multi-axis machining and multiple CNC controller platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience machining composite materials such as CFRP, fiberglass, or Kevlar.
  • 5+ years of experience with SURFCAM or NX CAM.
  • Experience setting up and operating large 5-axis machining centers.
  • Familiarity with Haas, Fanuc, Mazak, and Siemens controls.

Additional Requirements

  • Aerospace or other precision-manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse production and engineering teams.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
