Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer. The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs used in machining operations. This role works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Production Planning teams to ensure mold components are produced accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with customer specifications.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop CNC programs for mills and lathes based on engineering drawings and CAD models
- Set up and verify programs through simulation and/or machine prove-out
- Optimize programs to improve cycle time, tool life, and overall efficiency
- Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and production staff to resolve issues
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Maintain organized program files and documentation
- Accurately allocate time and work completed to correct projects
- Troubleshoot machining and programming problems on the shop floor
- Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and safety procedures
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Manufacturing, Machining, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of CNC programming experience
Skills & Abilities
- Experience with various manufacturing processes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Generate programs necessary for CNC mills/lathes for all aspects of the molds
- Experience using Microsoft Office
- A proven working knowledge of CAM software
Preferred Qualifications
- Milling/Lathe experience
- Experience with hyperMILL
- Experience with hyperCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam (2D), Autodesk Inventor
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics/Navision or other ERP system
Working Conditions
- Combination of office and shop floor environment
- Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and metalworking processes
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Visual acuity to review detailed drawings and machine operations
Schedule
Day shift, M-F, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
