About the role
The Programmer is responsible for the creation and maintenance of programs for turret punch, laser cutting machines, and dimension flats.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain programs for press brakes, panel benders, and robotic brakes
- Maintain and/or change the floor routings and BOMs required for processing the parts through the sheet metal department
- Resolve programming issues
Required Qualifications
Focus on candidates with experience in sheet metal blanking and bending, not lathe, mill, or general machining programming backgrounds.
Priority Skills
- Amada robot programming for press brakes
- Amada turret blanking software (VPSS 4i)
- SAP experience (routings and bills of material)
- Salvagnini panel bender programming (Stream Bend)
- SigmaNest experience for laser part setup
Additional Considerations
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new software quickly
- Candidates from sheet metal fabrication, OEM manufacturing, metal forming, or related industries are likely a better fit than traditional machining backgrounds
