CNC Programmer

As a CNC Programmer, you will develop and modify computer programs to control CNC machines, translating blueprints and design specifications into precise instructions for cutting and shaping materials. Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design models to determine desired shape, dimensions, and tolerances of the final product.
- Develop and modify G-code or other programming languages to instruct CNC machines on toolpaths, speeds, feeds, and other parameters, optimizing program efficiency to fully utilize machine capabilities.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and equipment based on material, part geometry, and required accuracy.
- Set up and configure CNC machines for specific jobs, including tool selection, clamping, and other preparations.
- Test and troubleshoot programs, identifying and resolving errors, and adjusting machine settings as needed.
- Stay current with advancements in CNC technology, programming languages, and manufacturing processes.
- Address issues during manufacturing, such as tool breakage or program errors, and implement solutions.
- Maintain tooling inventory, update tooling databases, and document the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and other team members to ensure efficient and accurate production of parts.
- Proactively communicate with vendors to ensure tooling availability for production.
Requirements
- Degree, certification, or equivalent job experience in CNC programming or a related field.
- Five years of experience programming CNC lathes and/or mills.
- High level of proficiency in blueprint reading.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to address manufacturing process issues.
