About the role

CNC Programmer/Operator at Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a skilled individual to join our team. We produce quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with precision and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze specifications: Review job orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to calculate dimensions, select tools, and determine machine speeds.
  • Program CNC machines: Create and optimize CNC programs using CAM software to ensure precision and efficiency.
  • CNC setup & calibration: Set up CNC equipment, calibrate tools, and ensure proper machine function before production.
  • Trial runs & adjustments: Perform trial simulations, adjust programs as needed to ensure accuracy and minimize errors.
  • Safety & cleanliness: Follow all safety standards, wear PPE for the duration of the shift while on the manufacturing floor, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Cross-departmental support: Assist with other areas of production as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience programming setup CNC turning.
  • CAM software: Experience with CAM software preferred.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of basic machining practices and mechanical processes.
  • Mathematics & communication: Solid math skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical details.
  • Problem-solving & teamwork: Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Work ethic: Dependable with a commitment to high-quality, precise work standards.

Qualifications
