CNC OPERATOR/Trainee MANUFACTURING
Grothouse · Germansville, PA · 1 mo ago
Management$22–$25/hrFull-time
About the role
Grothouse is a nationally recognized manufacturer of luxury wood surfaces, architectural millwork, custom tables, stair components, and specialty wood products. Our work is found in some of the finest homes and commercial spaces across North America. We stock more than 60 species of wood, and every project is engineered one at a time—this is not production-line work.
We are not looking for an experienced CNC operator. We are looking for someone curious, hard-working, and hungry to learn a real skilled trade—and we will teach you the rest.
Responsibilities
- Learn to set up and run CNC machines cutting solid wood for high-end woodwork
- Start with material handling and machine loading, progressing to basic operation
- Grow into setup, tooling, fixturing, reading drawings, and eventually programming
- Train in 3D parametric CAD such as Solidworks or Inventor as skills advance
Who thrives here
- People who build, fix, and tinker—cars, woodworking, 3D printing, electronics, anything
- Those who take things apart to see how they work
- Individuals who ask questions and genuinely want to master a craft, not just clock hours
- People who take pride in precise, careful work and own the quality of what they produce
- Reliable communicators who discuss project details with coworkers
Requirements
- Genuine curiosity and desire to learn—this is the most important requirement
- Physical capability for demanding work, including repeated heavy lifting (often over 75 lbs) with and without assistance
- Basic math and comfort with measurement; willingness to learn to read drawings
- Any experience with machining, CNC, woodworking, countertops, or shop equipment is a plus—but not required
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday day shift with flex time from day one. Set a schedule that works for your life; adjust hours for appointments or personal commitments without burning time off.
Compensation & Benefits
- $22–$25/hour to start, depending on experience and capability, progressing to $26–$30/hour at full mastery of the machines, with continued wage growth thereafter
- Company-paid retirement contribution: Grothouse contributes 3% of gross earnings to your 401(k) every pay period, regardless of your own contributions
- Flex time from day one
- Paid vacation and 8 paid holidays
- Employee, friends, and family discounts
