About the role

Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machining equipment and industrial saws to required dimensions and tolerances.
- Set up machines by mounting and aligning workpieces, fixtures, and tooling, and selecting/installing appropriate cutting tools.
- Load CNC programs from machine controllers or manufacturing databases.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, planning sheets, sketches, and technical documentation to determine setup requirements and machining sequences.
- Produce parts within specified tolerances, including ±0.005” thickness and ±0.010” end-of-part (EOP) when required.
- Monitor machine operations and displays to ensure proper performance and identify malfunctions or process deviations.
- Inspect completed work using appropriate measurement tools to verify compliance with engineering specifications prior to release to the next operation.
- Troubleshoot machining, cutting, or quality issues and coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and supervision to resolve problems.
- Perform routine operator-level preventive maintenance and maintain equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with company standards.
- Demonstrate flexibility to cross-train and support multiple machines, processes, and manufacturing work cells.
- Adhere strictly to plant safety policies, PPE requirements, and environmental health standards and promptly report unsafe conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of production operations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Two (2) years of CNC experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience performing three and five-axis NC machining of metallic or composite products where hand forming, carving, or hand tool machining of light gauge or delicate materials are required.
- Exposure to close tolerance work, typically on the order of a few thousandths of an inch, and use of calipers or micrometers.
- Acceptable vision test results (as applicable).
- Sufficient English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills to read, write, and understand and communicate the company's operating procedures and policies.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Frequently walk.
- Occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and lift and/or move 32 to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
