Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Reviews blueprints to determine setup procedures to follow, machine tools required and stock to use.
- Selects machine tooling and installs them on the machine.
- Capable of setting guide bushings, collets and working with bar feeders with minimal supervision.
- Loads and edits as required machine programs.
- Makes a trial run and tests for conformance to specifications using gauges, comparators, micrometers and calipers.
- Adjusts the machine to attain specified tolerances.
- Understand blueprints and be able to use a variety of precision measuring devices.
- May recommend program and or tool changes to resolve production problems.
- May make tools and attachments, such as forming tools and cut-off tools, if not in stock.
- Responsible for form tool sharpening and maintenance.
- May work/train in other departments where needed.

Required EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in CNC operations and setup, specifically Swiss-style machining/turning
- Proficiency with basic CNC setup, offsets, and tool changes
- Strong ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T symbols
- Skilled in using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
- Basic understanding of machining principles, speeds/feeds, and material properties
- Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in a machining environment
