Responsibilities
- Operates automated machines like CNC or other equipment to manufacture company products.
- Sets up complex, customized production equipment to ensure efficient and cost-effective production.
- Follows established procedures for operating various CNC and conventional manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling, and stamping.
- Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as mill-turns, mills, lathes, or grinders.
- Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
- Reads and sets up blueprints to ensure work meets quality control standards.
- Moves materials as needed to complete assignments.
- Inspects machined products using precision gages to ensure they meet external and internal quality specifications.
- May operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously.
- Performs basic level programming and modifies G code programs as needed.
- Handles basic or standard CNC complexity and troubleshoots issues related to production, machinery, processing, and packaging operations.
Requirements
- High School Degree
- 1-3 years experience in machine operation
- Automated/CNC work experience required
Qualifications
- Basic troubleshooting and decision-making skills
- Ability to modify G code programs
- Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Knowledge of shop math, including geometry and conversions
- Manufacturing and product knowledge
- Proven troubleshooting, decision-making skills, and teamwork abilities
