Responsibilities
- Operates automated machines like CNC or other equipment to manufacture company products.
- Sets up complex, customized production equipment to ensure efficient manufacturing.
- Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs to meet market demand.
- Fulfills tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling, and stamping using conventional and CNC manufacturing equipment.
- Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.
- Sets up and operates machine tools, such as mill-turns, mills, lathes, or grinders.
- Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
- Reads and sets up blueprints, and checks work against quality control gauges.
- Moves materials as needed to complete assignments.
- Inspects machined products using precision gaging to ensure external and internal quality specifications.
- May operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously.
- Performs basic level programming.
Requirements
- High School Degree
- 1-3 years experience in machine operation
- Automated/CNC work experience required
Qualifications
- Vocational training or equivalent experience preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Knowledge of shop math, including geometry and conversions
- Proven troubleshooting and decision-making skills
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based environment
Skills
- Basic troubleshooting and decision-making skills
- Ability to modify G code programs
- Ability to handle basic or standard CNC complexity
- Working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical/scientific methods or operational processes
