Responsibilities

  • Operates automated machines like CNC or other equipment to manufacture company products.
  • Sets up complex, customized production equipment to ensure efficient manufacturing.
  • Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs to meet market demand.
  • Fulfills tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling, and stamping using conventional and CNC manufacturing equipment.
  • Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools, such as mill-turns, mills, lathes, or grinders.
  • Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
  • Reads and sets up blueprints, and checks work against quality control gauges.
  • Moves materials as needed to complete assignments.
  • Inspects machined products using precision gaging to ensure external and internal quality specifications.
  • May operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously.
  • Performs basic level programming.

Requirements

  • High School Degree
  • 1-3 years experience in machine operation
  • Automated/CNC work experience required

Qualifications

  • Vocational training or equivalent experience preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Knowledge of shop math, including geometry and conversions
  • Proven troubleshooting and decision-making skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based environment

Skills

  • Basic troubleshooting and decision-making skills
  • Ability to modify G code programs
  • Ability to handle basic or standard CNC complexity
  • Working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical/scientific methods or operational processes
