CNC Operator

Job Summary

PFC’s CNC machine operator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines. The primary role involves preparing and setting up machines, programming, operating, monitoring, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precise and accurate parts.

Responsibilities

• Create or modify CNC machine programs
• Translate engineering drawings or specifications into machine instructions
• Operate CNC machines to execute programmed instructions
• Maintain machine operations, adjust settings, and perform quality checks
• Oversee machines and make necessary changes to improve results
• Check machinery daily for functionality
• Complete production and quality logs
• Communicate logistics issues and report to supervisors or maintenance department
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines
• Identify and troubleshoot issues, make necessary adjustments or repairs
• Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications
• Maintain quality and safety standards
• Identify opportunities for process improvement

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in operating CNC machines and familiarity with CNC programming languages
• Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and metrology techniques
• Ability to learn Shop Mathematics
• Strong attention to detail and quality control skills
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Adherence to safety protocols and procedures

Qualifications and Skills

• Technical training or certifications in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code)
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Adherence to safety protocols and procedures
