About the role
The Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist will work at the Erlanger, KY Service Center to service and manufacture large scale, power generation equipment along with their subassemblies by following blueprints and specific work instructions.
Responsibilities
- Work in a shop environment safely with zero accidents and/or injuries
- Set-up and operate various CNC Machine Tools Horizontal/Vertical Mills
- Read CNC programs, familiar with G & M codes
- Make minor edits to CNC programs
- Read and interpret Engineered Blue Print drawings
- Understand and apply geometric tolerances
- Set up and safely use various inspection tools and gages (i.e. inner diameter (I/D) & outer diameter (O/D) Mics, calipers, Pi-tape, bore gages, Tri-mics, thread gages, etc...)
- Machine to required tolerances of .001” - .005”
- Determine machining feeds and speeds and tool selections
- Work effectively with team to ensure successful delivery to customer
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of related experience in CNC machining
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of geometric tolerances and ability to apply them in machining
- Ability to set up and operate CNC machine tools
- Experience with inspection tools and gages
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently
