CNC Machinist (Mill)

Responsibilities

• Operates manual and CNC machines to perform specific operations as outlined in methods and process sheets.
• Learns and programs machines for other processes.
• Adjusts precision tools as needed.
• Loads and deletes programs in the computer.
• Makes minor adjustments to feeds and speeds on assigned machines.
• Grinds own cutting tools and drills (excluding special purpose tools).
• Consistently maintains specific tolerances and accurately performs dimensions.
• Checks parts using specified gauges or furnished fixtures.
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
• Fulfills other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2-5 years relevant experience.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Able to read, write, and speak in standard English.
• Knowledge of shop geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and blueprints.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before employees in the organization.
• Working knowledge of the machinability of metals.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• High School Diploma or equivalent, or 7+ years relevant experience.

Location

Plainville, CT - This position is 100% on-site, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime available (1st shift: 7:00am-3:30pm).
