Job Summary

Priince is seeking a CNC Machinist - Set Up Operator to join our Lathe Department. This role reports to the Production Manager and operates CNC Milling Machines. Shift: 2nd Shift M-F, 4:30pm - 1:00am. Training during first shift hours is required.

Responsibilities

  • Machine setup, operation, and startup
  • Adjusts tooling to maintain proper sizes
  • Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications
  • Sets up workpiece in holding devices
  • Understands and adjusts machine speeds and feeds
  • Performs preventative machine maintenance
  • Loads tools and sets tool diameters for cutter radius compensation
  • Performs other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in CNC related field, set up experience preferred
  • Experience in vertical and horizontal milling machines setup
  • Ability to quickly use control panels for offsets and edits on FMS machinery
  • Tolerance for machining parts to +/- 0.0005" for diameter and +/- 0.001" for length
  • Reads and interprets GD&T blueprints

Skills

  • Recognizes and interprets safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Communicates effectively with supervisor and co-workers
  • Performs intermediate shop math skills and calculations
  • Uses basic computer skills for inquiries, data collection, and input
  • Has strong work ethic and willingness to work overtime

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly stands and reaches for the duration of shift
  • Frequent talking and hearing
  • Frequent repetitive and short-cycle work
  • Occasional walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending
  • Lifts, pushes, or pulls up to 15 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, warm/hot parts, machine sparks, compressed and cryogenic gases
  • Exposure to noise, color vision, English language proficiency, personal protective equipment, uniform rental service, employee events, and compensation

Compensation

$25 - $30 per hour

Additional compensation for shift differential

Sign-On Bonus: $2,500 for Machinists starting prior to June 1st
