Responsibilities
- Support safety culture and promote a safe work environment
- Align large rotors, gas components, and parts within tight tolerances for machining and grinding
- Program CNC lathes, VTLs, and milling machines
- Interpret OEM drawings, work instructions, and digital routers
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD & T) principles
- Set machine controls for machining parameters such as speed, feed, and coolant flow
- Monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions, and make adjustments
- Select and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on various machines
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience
- Expertise in CNC and manual machining, including OD, ID, grinding, burnishing, and VTLs
- Experience supporting rotor and gas turbine component repairs, especially for gas turbines like GE models
- Ability to operate manual and CNC machines proficiently
- Knowledge of gas turbine repair processes is highly advantageous
